Katy Perry is the new face of Moschino

The American singer has become brand ambassador of the ready-to-wear brand.

It's official, the pop princess has become the face of the Italian fashion house Moschino. It hasn’t come as a surprise since the singer is a close friend of Jeremy Scott, Moschino’s artistic director. Be on the red carpet or during a performance for the the Super Bowl, the young woman was seen repeatedly wearing the colorful and sometimes outrageous creations of the super designer.

Back to the history of the Moschino brand

Founded in 1983 by Franco Moschino, the fashion house has since been labeled as creative and colourful. In 2013, Jeremy Scott became artistic director of the fun and frivolous brand. Scott’s creations are the reasons for Moschino’s revival on the catwalk. Before joining the famous brand, Jeremy Scott distinguished himself as a fashion designer for Adidas; his creative input includes Adidas Wings but also the very controversial Adidas

In February 2014, Jeremy Scott invited pop culture on the catwalks of Milan Fashion Week. Fashionistas From around the word discovered his new collection inspired by the likes of Sponge Bob and Mac Donalds. Far from receiving an unanimous feedback, the collection divides and some already announced the death of the famous Italian brand.


In September 2014, the bad boy of fashion is at it again for the New York Fashion Week. For this collection, the designer picked Miley Cyrus, the former Disney star and new trashy icon, to present one of his latest creations "dirty hippie."

A week later, in Milan, the creator abandoned “Hanna Montana” for another famous blonde and present his spring-summer collection inspired by the Barbie universe. Bleach blond-hair, pink dresses and plastic accessories inspired the famous stylist.

Last fashion show in date? Pitti Uomo in Italy. The opportunity for the bad boy of fashion to show to the public its spring-summer collection for men. His inspirations? A not so delicate mix of "Casanova", the "Space Odyssey" and "Staying Alive."
